Tayon Holloway made it to Maryland for an unofficial visit when he was previously a four-star prospect out of Green Run (VA), but this weekend marked his first extended trip to College Park as the 6-foot-0.5, 185-pound defensive back took an official visit alongside his mom and coach. “It was fun,” Holloway told IBG. “I feel like we were just trying to get comfortable with each other. They really didn’t press it too much. They didn’t put any pressure on me.” Running backs coach Latrell Scott was able to lead the Terps’ initial pursuit after the two Virginia natives were able to meet face-to-face last week, but this weekend’s visit gave Holloway a chance to turn on the film with cornerback coach Henry Baker, who Holloway said “was a cool dude” during their first interaction. One thing stuck out about the Terps’ secondary: “They play press man.” Holloway was also able to spend time with the rest of the coaching staff and sit down with head coach Mike Locksley, while veteran safety Glen Miller served as his host. With official visits to Louisville and now Maryland complete, Holloway is still set to officially visit LSU the first weekend of January as he keeps his recruitment open. “I feel like everybody is still in the mix. I’m just trying to weigh my options, evaluate everybody and then let it all play out.” After his LSU official visit, Holloway will quickly shift into decision mode with his mom and coach and look to make a near-immediate commitment before enrolling for the spring semester. After redshirting in 2022, Holloway posted 19 tackles, 1.5 TFLs and one pass deflection this season. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
