After spending his freshman year at Rock Creek (MD), 2026 offensive lineman Adrian Hamilton made the local transfer to St. John's for his sophomore season where the 6-foot-3, 290-pound lineman shined en route to earning All-WCAC honorable mention honors as the Cadets' starting left tackle. While he projects as an interior lineman at the next level, Hamilton's sophomore season put him on the radar of a long list of Power Four schools with Maryland, West Virginia, Syracuse and Virginia Tech already in the mix. "I've been enjoying building a relationship with a lot of different coaches, it's been nice," Hamilton told IBG. And with the dead period now over, Hamilton will hit the road to check out a pair of schools this week. "I'm going to West Virginia on the 25th and Virginia Tech on the 27th," he told IBG. Hamilton made his way to Morgantown for a camp in June where he earned camp MVP honors as the Mountaineer staff looks to add yet another lineman from Maryland to their room. "I like the coach, he teaches you a lot of really good things. And they have a really good o-line." Meanwhile, the Hokies' pursuit is led by former Maryland assistant Elijah Brooks. "Him and coach Brent Davis, I've been talking with them a lot and I've been down there twice. I've been seeing a lot of good things from them as of recently." While Hamilton also noted that South Carolina has shown consistent interest over the last month, Maryland has been an early school showing steady interest with co-defensive coordinator Brian Williams leading early efforts. "I feel like we get along with each other real well. I went to their spring game. It was good being up there, got to see some different players from different schools and talk with them so that was nice." Maryland has landed at least one prospect out of the WCAC powerhouse in three of the six recruiting cycles under Mike Locksley and Hamilton has taken note of the chance to stay local. " I want to look more into Maryland. I like that it's real close to home, I don't have to go too far and my mom can come to the games, my family can come so that really sticks out." While Hamilton will look to make his way to College Park for a game this fall, he'll quickly shift his attention from visits to gameplay with the Cadets set to begin fall camp on August 1. Adrian Hamilton is not yet rated by On3, but is rated a three-star by both ESPN and Rivals.
