Maryland football adds third commitment to 2027 class

One week after his first visit to College Park, Maryland football has added its third commitment to its 2027 class.

Pingree (MA) IOL Jon Panagou, a 6-foot-4, 305-interior offensive lineman, has jumped into the fold after visiting College Park last weekend.

Panagou arrived for a two-day official visit where he got an in-depth look at the program with assistant Damian Wroblewski leading the way.

“I was for a little bit then I got called in to meet with coach Locksley. Had a good meeting, seems like a real down to earth guy then had a meeting with [Tommy Paolucci], then went out to lunch and practice. Really nice guy. Both me and my mom really like him. He’s also got a really cool office,” Panagou said.

Panagou joins the fold as an interior lineman capable of playing either guard or center, while he also becomes the first offensive line commit of the cycle.

“Just in general, talking with coach Hal [Hunter] and coach Wrobo, I’d say that’s what matters the most, the people,” Panagou added. “I think two OL would be beneficial because it seems like the two coaches are very different in personality, so I think having two coaches like that and the extra attention and development would really help. I liked the intensity of practice, seems like it’s really well run.”

He also becomes the third verbal pledge alongside Virginia athlete Levi Babin and Pennsylvania running back Mekhi Graham.
