Cardinal Newman (SC) three-star Pedro Reyes is no stranger to College Park, most recently visiting campus back in June for camp, but the 6-foot, 180-pound athlete returned to College Park on Saturday for "like my fourth or fifth time" to watch Maryland's win over Towson.
"It was good. I got a chance to talk with coach Preston , coach Tim Morris and coach Gunter Brewer," Reyes told IBG. "I liked the defense, they did good. They were shutting them down, and they've got some big-time receivers". Wide receiver coach Gunter Brewer is the area coach with safeties coach Zac Spavital the position recruiter for Reyes, but the three-star athlete has been able to build a strong rapport with offensive analyst Preston Brown.

With offers from UNC, Boston College, App State, West Virginia and Duke among others, Maryland extended an offer back in late March and it was Brown who gave the news. "My coach helped introduce me to him and after he offered me, we've just been building a relationship ever since. We've been keeping in touch. Calling, texting, all that good stuff."
Reyes admitted the contact from the Terps has been "a lot" over the last year, primarily driven by Brown's pursuit. That's kept the junior athlete coming back to College Park as Maryland has been among the most consistent suitors with his junior season underway. "They just show a lot of love and they continue to reach out. They ask about my development and it's close to home. So it's not too far of a drive, and it's big-time football, so I like it. I got to see the facilities and stuff, but I've seen it before. The indoor is nice."
Following his trip to Maryland, Reyes will look to schedule visits to Coastal Carolina and North Carolina later this fall.
Reyes is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall by On3.
