2024 four-star CB Braydon Lee
The DMV is once again littered with talent across the 2024 class and on Wednesday, Maryland made the cut for one of several four-stars.
Flowers (MD) four-star cornerback Braydon Lee announced a top ten of Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Maryland, Penn State, South Carolina, Pitt, UNC, Tennessee and Ohio State on Wednesday. Lee made his way to campus for the Northwestern home game where he and three-star teammate Kendric Council got a chance to take in the facilities prior to kickoff. Led by running backs coach Elijah Brooks and cornerbacks coach Henry Baker, Maryland has made an emphasis on the PG County star with cornerback a priority focus next cycle.
Lee also took a visit to campus back in the spring and spoke glowingly about his time with Baker. “He took me out separately and walked me around the field. We just had a great conversation walking around just me and him so I got to really just understand him more as a coach, mentor, person. I also got a chance to talk with coach [Elijah] Brooks individually, one-on-one, so that was good.” The need for homegrown talent remains to be a main pitch for the Terps, led by Locksley.
“Something that coach Brooks and coach [Mike] Locksley had mentioned is they love keeping their talent at home and they made a good comparison with my school, Flowers. We have some of the best players in the country at Flowers and it’s a public school. Stay home instead of going to private schools. We’re doing that at Flowers and doing the same thing they’re doing with talent at home and having success with it.”
South Carolina is also a primary contender for Lee after securing his teammate and four-star Desmond Umeozulu in the 2023 cycle, giving the two a chance to make their way to Columbia back in September with five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor on campus for his official visit.
Lee is rated a four-star prospect and a 92 overall by On3, sitting as the 88th-best prospect nationally and second-best in Maryland.
