Four-star WR Jonathan Paylor has busy June schedule set

Cummings (NC) speedy four-star receiver Jonathan Paylor is set to run in states next weekend, but after that, the coveted 5-foot-9, 170-pound target will begin his four official visits.

Paylor will begin with a trip to Clemson beginning June 2. “Right now, they’re still recruiting me and showing me constant love.”

Maryland is next on the list with his official beginning June 9. Paylor made his way to campus last fall for the Ohio State game and as the staff has remained consistent throughout, lead recruiter Gunter Brewer made his way through his school last week. “He came by, I ran into him. Really good to touch base with him, how he’s been, how I’ve been.”

NC State is next on Paylor’s list with an official beginning June 16 as the in-state school has prioritized the four-star throughout his recruitment. “Still love with them since he first recruited me. Coach [Dave] Doeren shows a lot of love also but coach Joker [Phillips] is on top of me.”

South Carolina is the last official visit on the books for now with an official visit beginning June 23. The Gamecocks carry the most buzz in Paylor’s recruitment and explained why. “They treat my dad like family, like he’s a recruit. They keep showing him love, they’ll be in a good spot.”

Colorado and Florida are in the mix for a visit this summer before he makes his decision.

Maryland, however, is the only school set to receive an official visit despite not making his top eight. Paylor explained “that’s just because I’m saving them for last,” adding that another cut is on the way.

Paylor doesn’t have a set timeframe but intends to make his commitment ahead of his senior season.

Jonathan Paylor is rated a four-star and a 90 overall by On3, sitting as the tenth-best prospect in North Carolina.
