Four-star guard getting familiar with Maryland after new offer

With the regular season now complete, the postseason set to begin and the transfer portal beginning to take shape, the high school recruiting scene has reached a standstill with visits, new offers and pursuits set to pick back up again next month.

But Patrick School (NY) four-star guard Jaiden Glover watched his recruitment pick up midway through his junior year as Seton Hall, Illinois, Butler and Villanova jumped into the picture. Maryland was the last school to offer back on January 30 as he’s getting to know the staff better. “I’m building a relationship with coach Tony Skinn and the head coach. Those are the main two I’ve been talking to,” Glover told IBG. “We usually talk every week or so but the last week or so, I hadn’t heard from him, but I know everyone is busy with the season winding down and stuff.”

Glover hasn’t been able to make his way down to campus yet but he’s able to tune in to familiarize himself with the Terps’ style. “I’ve only heard about the program, I hadn’t really watched them like that before. I watched a couple, little clips since then. After the tournament me and coach Skinn are going to work out a date to get to campus.”

With extensive ties in the region given his 12 years at Seton Hall, Willard leaned on his connections to make a move on Glover and it was Willard who extended the offer to the 6-foot-5, 170-pound forward. “We talked when he first offered and he was telling me he was looking forward to getting to know me more. He told me when they offer someone, they’re serious and they’re not copy-cat recruiting like other schools do.”

While Glover works on a date to get to campus, he knows where he first stop will be when he sets a date. “I’m working on an unofficial and official to Villanova. Xavier is talking to me a lot. Villanova invited me to their game against UConn, so that’ll probably be the first school. Illinois is definitely up there. Coach Frazier, he’s the main one. Seton Hall, St. John’s. It’ll probably go like Villanova, St. John’s then Illinois. I don’t know 100%, I just know Villanova is going to be first.”

Glover is rated a four-star prospect and a 91 overall by On3, sitting as the 26^th-best forward in the country.
