Four-star CB Jett White announces commitment to Maryland

Maryland has landed its first commitment in the 2025 class as Miami Edison (FL) four-star cornerback Jett White announced his pledge during the All-American Bowl on NBC.

White, a 6-foot-1.5, 165-pound corner, decommitted from USC in January of 2023 after committing to the Trojans for over a year.

Maryland made the top ten for White alongside Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Miami (FL), Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and USC back in November with the intention to commit today.

The cross-country target made the move from Orange (CA) to Miami (FL) in 2023 where he finished with ten pass breakups and an interception. White also visited Maryland for a pair of games in 2022, including the homecoming win over Northwestern, after picking up an offer as an underclassman. Former cornerbacks coach Henry Baker led the way with the cornerback prospect as he and 2024 Jackson State signee Kobe Boykin became familiar faces in College Park.

The news comes one day after news surfaced that Maryland is expected to hire Aazaar Abdul-Rahim as the new position coach, along with co-defensive coordinator, while head coach Mike Locksley and the Terps now turn to the rest of the 2025 cycle with a bit more juice on the recruiting trail.

Jett White is rated a four-star prospect and a 90 overall by On3, sitting as the 247th-best prospect in the country. White is also ranked as the 28th-best cornerback in the 2025 class.
