Florida safety set to return to campus for official visit

Maryland will welcome its third and final group of official visitors to College Park this upcoming weekend with several local targets expected to make their return campus, but another out-of-state target has confirmed plans to officially visit Maryland this weekend.

Mainland (FL) safety E’zaiah Shine tells IBG he will officially visit Maryland this upcoming weekend.

Shine, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound safety, picked up an offer from Maryland after briefly visiting campus during the spring while in town for a 7-on-7 tournament. Shine returned to campus for the spring game two weeks later as outside linebacker coach James Thomas has led the way with Shine, making this weekend’s set visit his third trip to campus.

“I just want to be around the coaches, have fun around the coaches, be around everybody and see what it’s all about,” Shine told IBG.

Florida, USF, Georgia Tech and West Virginia have all extended offers thus far while Shine camped at Ole Miss this past weekend after the Rebels offered in the spring. Shine has taken official visits to UCF and Iowa State thus far. Maryland has been in the mix with Shine since offering and it doesn’t hurt that he and four-star safety Brandon Jacob, who officially visited this past weekend, are close friends. Shine enters the weekend ‘warm’ on the big board.

Shine is not yet rated by On3.
