WR Ryan Manning talks in-home visit, Maryland’s offense, enrolling early

With the staff fanned out across the county with recruiting season in full swing, the bulk of the staff stayed local last week where they were able to lock down their local target and verbals. That paved the way for St. Frances three-star wide receiver Ryan Manning to have an in-home with his future position coach.

“He just showed me a lot of things, taught me a lot. It was a great experience having him cover over, spend time with my family as well,” Manning told IBG. “Coach Brewer, he talks to me and my family every day. He texts us in the morning, talks to us a little bit throughout the day if he has the chance. The relationship is growing, especially throughout the season. We’d always see each other on Saturday if they were home, I’d stop by any day of the week. Definitely feel like the relationship has grown.”

Manning was able to make it all but one home game this season, missing the season opener due to St. Frances opening the season on the road. That’s given him a chance to get even closer with the staff during each visit.

“Love the coaching staff. They’ve really welcomed me in and watching the offense play excites me because I can envision myself making the big plays, the highlight plays and I just can’t wait to get the opportunities to make in real life.”

After becoming a frequent visitor on campus, Manning will get a chance to check out one more game before he enrolls in January. “I’m actually going to the bowl game in Charlotte.”

Manning is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall by On3, sitting as the 15th-best prospect in Maryland.
