Top-150 Prospect Returns to Maryland, Talks Recent and Upcoming Visits

Quince Orchard four-star linebacker Jaylen Harvey was initially slated to visit for week one’s win over Buffalo, but he ended up making it to campus for this weekend’s win over SMU.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound edge rusher stayed until was impressed with a few of the Terps’ defenders. “Defense was playing good. The linebackers really had a ball, too. Jaishawn [Barham] did good.” Harvey is no stranger to Maryland’s gameday atmosphere, either. “It was good. Yesterday was like my 80th time going to a Maryland game so I already know how the atmosphere is.”

Harvey also got a chance to see head coach Mike Locksley and catch up with him before the game. “It’s been a couple of months since I’ve been to Maryland. I love getting up there, hometown so it’s always good seeing him.”

What’s Harvey’s interest level in Maryland?

”It’s definitely up there because it’s the hometown, so I’ll have them up there in my recruiting process.”

Auburn, Michigan, Penn State, USC and Oklahoma joined Maryland in the host of schools that called Harvey once the clock struck midnight on September 1. While he’s looking to visit several schools through the fall of his junior year, he knows he’ll be at Penn State three times this fall.

“I’m going to the Ohio State game, the Maryland game and the Northwestern game [at Penn State].”

Harvey is rated a four-star prospect and a 91 overall by On3, sitting as the 139th-best prospect in the country.
