The List: Virginia targets, Florida four-star, local recruits visiting Maryland’s spring game

Maryland football wraps up spring ball on Saturday with kickoff set for 12:05 PM. With over 300 recruits confirmed to visit campus ranging, we look at the list of visitors expected in College Park.

Latrell Scott’s efforts in Virginia continue to pay off as Highland Springs (VA) duo, OT T’Khi Alexander and QB Khristian Martin, make their way to campus. Martin has been on the staff’s radar dating back to last spring and this upcoming weekend will mark his second trip to campus since the start of spring ball as the dual-threat QB took in the Terps’ first practice. Meanwhile, Scott has the Terps becoming a growing factor for Manchester (VA) three-star edge Makai Byerson as he takes his second trip in this spring. King George (VA) three-star WR Mekhai White has Georgia and Michigan high on his list, but he’ll be back in College Park as the top target gets a closer look at the Terps’ receiver room. Recent commit and Phoebus (VA) three-star edge Anthony Reddick will also be back on campus.

Maryland remains in pole position for Oakdale (MD) three-star ATH Evan Austin, while his teammate and four-star edge rusher Dom Nichols told IBG he’s unsure whether he makes the trip in.

Maryland is looking to bolster its interior line for the 2023 season, but they’re also looking to the locking down the future as Central Dauphin (PA) IOL Anthony Robsock and Huntington (WV) three-star IOL Robby Martin make their way to campus for the first time.

Steelton-Highspire (PA) three-star DT Andrew Erby will make his way back to campus, Montclair (NJ) ATH David Thom-Rogers will also be on campus while Timber Creek (NJ) three-star DE Brahim Wynn will begin day two of his visit as his pops tours campus for the first time. Maryland has become a viable landing spot for the OLB target and are also in line for an official visit.

Miami, Alabama and Texas A&M are hard after Evans (FL) four-star SAF Brandon Jacob but no other school is recruiting him harder than Maryland as the Terps will receive a June official. The same can be said for Flowers (MD) three-star CB Lloyd Irvin, who has an official set for the last weekend in June with the Terps battling Big Ten foes like Wisconsin and Michigan State.

Two more from Florida headed to campus with the OT7 camp underway in Baltimore are Miami Palmetto (FL) three-star CB Jacory Barney and Tampa Catholic (FL) four-star WR TJ Moore, who are expected to visit campus this weekend. Barney, listed as a receiver, is a cornerback target for the Terps as defensive coordinator Brian Williams leads the way there.

New safeties coach Zac Spavital, meanwhile, has been steadily building a relationship with La Salle (RI) three-star SAF Justin Denson as he makes his first trip to campus with the Terps expected to become the latest player along a growing list of offers. Camden (NJ) four-star WR Jaylan Hornsby, who hails from the same school as 2023 signee Josh Richards, will make his way back to campus and visit Maryland. Other visitors in the 2024 class include Trinity Episcopal (VA) SAF Cornell Allen, East Coast Prep (MA) WR Ejani Shakir and Greenfield-Central (IN) TE Lane Wadle.

St. Joseph Regional (NJ) three-star RB John Forster, Highland Springs (VA) LB Brennan Johnson, St. Michael (VA) ATH Zion Gray and St. Thomas More (CT) DL Adam Shovlin headline the 2025 visitors heading to campus as Gray has made himself a familiar face in College Park dating back to last spring while following through with multiple game visits last fall. Meanwhile, a 2023 prospect will make his way to campus as Bishop Ireton TE/DL Amondi James returns to College Park. Maryland was taking a long look at the 6-foot-5, 240-pound athlete last spring—shortly after Jamie Kaiser opted to focus on basketball exclusively—as James has made his way back to College Park last summer for a camp.
