2023 Uncommitted Prospects
Good Counsel (MD) four-star DE Neeo Avery
Churchill (MD) WR Zeke Avit
Unity Reed (VA) LB Amare Campbell
Decatur (MD) WR Brycen Coleman
Calvert Hall (MD) ATH Ricardo Cooper
Good Counsel (MD) four-star DE/OLB Dylan Gooden
Chaminade-Madonna (FL) OT Elvin Harris
Harbor Creek (PA) OT Nick Krahe
Skinny: Avery is expected on campus while his mom could make it to College Park with him. Gooden, set to commit on August 9, is in holding pattern with Maryland but is expected to make it in with his family. Amare Campbell will commit in late August and with the Terps in the top three alongside North Carolina and West Virginia, Maryland still holds an edge and family approval for the Virginia linebacker. Eastern Shore standout Brycen Coleman will make the trip in with interest from the staff, while Maryland offered Krahe following camp last month as he’ll make his first trip to College Park. Similar to Krahe, Avit drew an offer following camp last month and will take his first dedicated unofficial visit to Maryland.
2024 Uncommitted Prospects
Good Counsel (MD) three-star OL Kyle Altuner
Oakdale (MD) ATH Evan Austin
Hough (NC) OT Eagan Boyer
Varina (VA) ATH Elijah Brown
Manchester (VA) four-star DE Makai Byerson
Brooke Point (VA) three-star WR Daniel Coles
Gonzaga (DC) four-star DE DD Holmes
DeMatha (MD) three-star DL Emmett Laws
Flowers (MD) four-star DB Braydon Lee
Good Counsel (MD) DL Darien Mayo
Good Counsel (MD) three-star WR Elijah Moore
Oakdale (MD) four-star DL Dominic Nichols
Millford Mill (MD) QB Deshawn Purdie
Phoebus (VA) three-star DL Anthony Reddick
St. Peter’s Prep (NJ) three-star DB Cam Richardson
Loyola Blakefield (MD) IOL Trevor Szymanski
St. Mary’s Ryken (MD) QB Brenton Toles
Loudoun Valley (VA) three-star OT Mason Wade
Mount St. Joe’s (MD) QB Winston Watkins
Roosevelt (DC) QB Khalil Wilkins
St. Frances (MD) four-star RB Dejuan Williams
Skinny: The benefit of securing the foundation of Maryland’s 2023 class is the ability to look ahead and begin laying the groundwork for the 2024 class in what features a strong group of local talent. Maryland needed to pick up efforts for four-star Dominic Nichols and after contemplating a trip to VT, he’ll head to Maryland for at least his third visit this year. Two visitors that have made themselves familiar faces over the last year are Elijah Moore and Kyle Altuner out of Good Counsel, both expected to be coveted recruits over the next year. Four-star edge rusher DD Holmes out of Gonzaga is also expected to make it in. It’d be considered an upset if Trevor Szymanski, the brother of 2023 commit AJ Szymanski, committed elsewhere with the Terps in serious pursuit. Maryland jumped into the mix for local quarterbacks Brenton Toles and Deshawn Purdie and have their attention early. Cam Richardson will make his first trip to Maryland while Daniel Coles visited for a spring practice. Maryland has an early lead for Darien Mayo but will need to maintain efforts for the long, 6-foot-6 defensive end. Maryland will need to make strides for Braydon Lee, four-star cornerback teammate. St. Frances running back Dejuan Williams has the ratings but will become a household name this fall as he and Boston College lean Durell Robinson man the Panthers’ backfield.
2025 Uncommitted Prospects
McDonogh (MD) ATH Jeff Exinor
DeMatha (MD) QB Denzel Gardner
DeMatha (MD) DT Bryce Jenkins
Rock Creek (MD) WR Aaron Lewis
St. John’s (DC) DL Trent Wilson
Skinny: Aaron Lewis might be the next elite prospect to come out of the wings of Rock Creek, the rejuvenated program under Andre Kates after he moved his team from National Christian Academy. Maryland already has an early offer out to DeMatha quarterback Denzel Gardner as the staff was able to watch him during the first weekend of June when the Stags competed in the 7-on-7 tournament. Trent Wilson and Jeff Exinor will be household names in the 2025 cycle so good for the staff to get them on campus early.
