St. Frances Linebacker Planning to Return to Maryland

Linebacker Simeon Coleman was one of several from St. Frances (MD) to visit Maryland on Saturday where he got extensive facetime with inside linebacker coach Lance Thompson working to further break into the Baltimore powerhouse next cycle. The 6-foot, 210-pound linebacker also got to sit down with head coach Mike Locksley where they were able to reconnect for the first time since early summer.

“It was good, I had a good time talking to coach Locks and coach Lance [Thompson],” he told Inside the Black and Gold. “Coach Locks was just asking how the season was going and telling me why I should stay home and be a Terp.” Coleman, a former young star at DeMatha, made the offseason transfer to St. Frances this summer but the relationship with the staff has been strong ever since the spring. Coleman got a chance to watch his first game when Maryland hosted Purdue over the weekend, but he’ll be back in College Park next month.

“Yes I have a game at the University of Maryland this year vs IMG on November 18th. I also plan on coming back for the Ohio State game.”

What does Coleman like about Maryland? “The people that are in the building, the culture. Maryland has some great coaches. “Me and coach Lance have a great relationship. That’s my guy, he is a great linebacker coach.”

Coleman added he does not have a firm top group yet and will look to make a decision next summer prior to the start of his senior season.
