Maryland’s annual on-campus event began at 11 AM and wrapped up at 4 PM today as local 2023 and a long list of 2024 talent was able to make their way to campus. With a barbeque and pool party included, recruits react to Saturday’s event:
Churchill (MD) WR Zeke Avit: “The photoshoot was fun, I hope to see those pictures soon. I got to see Tagovailoa and Rakim Jarrett, they were doing some route and I saw Octavian [Smith] and coach Brewer was talking with them.”
Stephen Decatur (MD) WR Brycen Coleman: “Awesome! I loved hanging with all the coaches.”
2024 Pallotti (MD) four-star LB Gabe Williams: “Amazing. The pool man, we were playing basketball in the pool with some of the other recruits. It was super fun.”
2024 St. Mary’s Ryken QB Brenton Toles: “The BBQ was fantastic. I loved the energy I was around today and all the guys I met. Had a great conversation with Dan Enos about my upcoming season and how things are going for me. Today really showed me how Maryland runs things on and off the field and how much of a family they are, I liked it a lot.
2024 Pallotti (MD) four-star LB Gabe Williams: “Amazing. The pool man, we were playing basketball in the pool with some of the other recruits. It was super fun.”
2024 Loyola Blakefield OL Trevor Szymanski: “It was great to meet a lot of the commits and the atmosphere was fun.”
2024 St. Peter’s Prep (NJ) SAF Cam Richardson: “The BBQ went great. Everyone on staff treated me and my mom well and showed a lot of love. I had a lot of fun with coach [Henry] Baker and coach [Wes] Neighbors. Definitely will visit College Park again in the future.
2024 Oakdale (MD) ATH Evan Austin: “Had a great time at Maryland today, got the chance to talk to the coaches for a while. as well as have some fun in the pool. Also awesome seeing all the other top recruits and hanging with them.” (Austin added that he and Nichols hope to visit for the Maryland-Michigan State game)
2024 Manchester (VA) DE Makai Byerson: “Fun even, I definitely have never had a pool party on a trip.”
2025 St. John’s (DC) DE Trent Wilson: “It was very fun, I enjoyed myself. The pool was nice. I’m glad I got to know the coaches a little bit better.”
