Virginia four-star sets official visit to Maryland

The expectation has now become a reality after a regional four-star has locked in a return date to visit Maryland.

Huguenot (VA) four-star wide receiver Iveon Lewis is set to officially visit Maryland beginning June 11. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver visited College Park the first week of spring ball, making it his first visit to Maryland during his high school career despite the Terps becoming the first offer in his recruitment.

Maryland previously missed out on his top eleven released back in mid-January with Florida State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Purdue among the teams still involved alongside the pair of in-state schools: Virginia and Virginia Tech. Yet Maryland remained active in the pursuit before turning the tide during his spring visit while pitching the fit as a speedster in an offense with Malik Washington at the helm for his junior season.

“He’s from the same area as me so it’s real easy getting to know him and I’ve been up there before,” Lewis previously told IBG. “Maryland is definitely in consideration. They were my first offer so I definitely mess with them. I talked to them about what I could do in the offense.”

Lewis is set to kick off his official visits beginning May 1 with a trip to South Carolina followed by Virginia Tech the last weekend in May. The four-star will then close out his June slate with a trip to Kentucky beginning June 19.

As a sophomore, Lewis posted 1,069 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 45 receptions before being named a Class 4B All-Region selection.
