With the 2025 class seeing a flurry of commitments off the heels of the first two official visit weekends of the month, Maryland will welcome a new local target to campus next weekend while they remain in the hunt for several others. The latest: Spalding (MD) defensive lineman Delmar White is set to officially visit Maryland the weekend of June 21, sources tell IBG. Area and position recruiter Brian Williams has been tracking White, a 6-foot-2, 285-pound lineman, through the spring before becoming one of the standouts from Maryland's Big Man camp the first weekend of June and picking up an offer. White has drawn interest elsewhere with officials to Stony Brook, Maine and Villanova this month, but Maryland enters next weekend with a chance to swoop in on the wrestling star. While White has suited up for head coach Kyle Schmitt since transferring into Spalding his sophomore season, the emerging target has an accomplished wrestling background after claiming the MIAA Conference title as a junior, finishing the season 54-4 to become the top-ranked heavyweight in Maryland and the 2023-24 Capital Gazette Wrestler of the Year. Whether White suits up for Maryland wrestling head coach Alex Clemsen remains undecided, White's two-sport background and athleticism has Maryland's attention as they look to reel in a third Spalding target this cycle. White will now officially visit the same weekend as QB Malik Washington, who will likely remain local with no visit plans this upcoming weekend. Meanwhile, Maryland is still expected to host Quince Orchard (MD) four-star running back Iverson Howard for an official visit next weekend with two teams now shaping up at the top of his recruitment. After his planned official visit to Michigan didn't materialize, the Wolverines are now out of the mix with Maryland and Florida State jostling for pole position. Howard hasn't backed away from plans to make his commitment on June 18 -- two days after his official visit to Tallahassee is expected to end -- but multiple contacts continue to expect Howard to follow through on his planned official visit to Maryland the following weekend. 'Noles assistant John Papuchis has led the way on the target from his old stomping grounds, but there's steady confidence from both suitors as they work to tip the scale in their favor in the final hour. Maryland will also host its other top running back target this upcoming weekend in Hayfield (VA) three-star Jeff Overton, but his recruitment could turn a number of ways with his official visits halfway done. There's ample confidence in South Carolina's chances after kicking off the month, Virginia has established close ties to Overton's camp while the Hokies have confidence surrounding their chances with the final visit. Meanwhile, Maryland has been entrenched in Overton's top group for nearly two years as assistant Latrell Scott has spearheaded efforts since his arrival last offseason as they get a chance to make their pitch this upcoming weekend. Maryland could see its commitment spree continue into next weekend and the Calvert Hall twins -- DL Asaiah-Allan Hamond and SAF Alijah Hamond -- are two to keep tabs on. This weekend will mark their first official visit with the duo intent on playing together at the next level and the green light to do so in College Park makes the Terps a top player, while the recent addition of TE JT Taggart gives them another close tie. The trio are also basketball teammates. While Charlotte has made a big run at the twins, South Carolina has also been in pursuit -- and hoping to delay their recruitment with a fall official visit on the table. But Maryland enters the weekend with a chance to keep the local momentum going while they welcome multiple elite local targets to campus, including LB Noah Chambers, DT Bryce Jenkins and edge Cortez Harris. Georgia DL Sichan John tells IBG he still plans on officially visiting Maryland this upcoming weekend.
