https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd_INTzDIIs Maryland has shifted gears from preseason to week one as head coach Mike Locksley along with the players took the podium to preview their week one matchup against the in-state Towson Tigers. The opening portion of Tuesday’s practice was available to the media and IBG was back out there. The good news—veteran safety Glen Miller has been cleared to return now, is out of his boot and was on the field with the safeties on Tuesday to replenish the depth. Second-year CB Gavin Gibson was not in attendance for Tuesday’s practice, though his injury remains minor as he’s expected back by the beginning of conference play. The bad news? For the second straight week, RT Gottlieb Ayedze was not in action after suffering an injury at the end of week three of fall camp. Whether he’s available against Towson remains to be seen and we’ll have an update on this by the end of the week, but on Tuesday, it was once again walk-on Conor Fagan filling his role at right tackle. Fagan has been a veteran lineman that Locksley has highlighted in the past and rotated with the 1s and 2s in the spring and, with the staff tinkering with different rotations through camp, Fagan has been a mainstay in the rotation. Elsewhere along the offensive line, DJ Glaze was back at left tackle, Corey Bullock at left guard, Mike Purcell at center and Amelio Moran at right guard joining Fagan in the trenches. On the football recruiting side, Good Counsel (MD) towering 2025 tackle Eidan Buchanan is another candidate to visit this weekend as the Falcons host Jones (FL) on Friday night. Buchanan made his way to Maryland, Ohio State and West Virginia in late July as the three-star lineman has largely garnered a regional offer list so far. Outside linebacker coach James Thomas has led the way early while offensive line coach Brian Braswell has been able to establish an in-person connection with the local lineman a name to remember in the trenches next cycle. Donate to TBIAF, Maryland football's NIL foundation, here On the basketball recruiting side, Maryland will welcome four-star guard Jaeden Mustaf for his official visit beginning Friday as they look to challenge NC State down the stretch, but Mustaf won’t be the only visitor. 2025 Sidwell (DC) pint guard Acaden Lewis will make his way to College Park for his second unofficial visit within six weeks. Assistant David Cox has led the way with the 6-foot-3 guard as the Terps have monitored him heading into his junior year. “Coach Cox, he’s the one recruiting me so I’ve gotten to know him better throughout the process just texting me, him wanting me to get on campus. He’s a cool guy, just talked to him yesterday not even about basketball. They want to keep getting me back on campus for football games and hopefully an officially.” Donate to Turtle NIL, Maryland basketball's NIL collective, here Maryland also has a pair of local guards atop their 2025 wishlist in Chance Mallory and Nyk Lewis, while top-25 prospect Tyler Jackson left St. Frances for Overtime Elite earlier this month, but Lewis has been a consistent target for Cox with the 2025 board taking shape.
