TV, kickoff details announced for Maryland football's road game vs. UCLA

Maryland football has only played one game outside of SECU Stadium in 2025 and details for their next road game have officially been finalized.

Maryland will face UCLA on Saturday, Oct. 18 for a 7 PM ET kickoff on FS1, the Big Ten announced on Monday.

This marks the first matchup between the two teams since 1955. UCLA won the first matchup, 12-7, in Los Angeles back in 1954 before Maryland got revenge in a 7-0 win the season after.

Fast forward 70 years and both teams meet for the first time as Big Ten members.

UCLA was originally in the headlines as one of the underachievers to open 2025 after dropping their first four games, including Big Ten opener, and parting ways with DeShaun Foster after just 15 games as head coach. But the Bruins ended that cold streak over the weekend with a 42-37 win over seventh-ranked Penn State, securing the program’s first win over an AP top-ten opponent in 15 years.

UCLA will look to maintain momentum when they travel to face Michigan State in East Lansing on Saturday, Oct. 11 for a noon kickoff. As for Maryland, they’ll look to get back in the win column this weekend.

Maryland is coming its first loss of the season after allowing 24 points in 18 minutes, allowing Washington to leave SECU Stadium with a 24-20 win and push Maryland to 4-1 (1-1).

“We'll learn from this, and I expect this team will respond the way,” head coach Mike Locksley said after the loss. “I told them in the locker room, we’re going to learn a couple things about ourselves. One, how to manage success, which I didn't think we did a great job of it. In the bye week of managing the success without the distraction and the things that pop up. And now we want to see how we manage adversity. This is the first bit of adversity we'll face together as a team with dealing with a loss and I'm looking forward to seeing just how these guys respond.”
