TV, kickoff details announced for Maryland football's regular season finale vs. Michigan State

Details for Maryland football’s season finale have been announced by the Big Ten with Maryland set to face Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 29 for a 7 PM kickoff on FS1 at Ford Field.

This marks the fifth consecutive season the two teams have faced off with the teams splitting the first four matchups, though Michigan State’s 27-24 win in 2024 has since been vacated, one of 14 Spartans wins that were vacated as a fallout of the Mel Tucker-era recruiting violations.

This also marks Maryland’s first trip back to Ford Field since the 2016 Quick Lane Bowl vs. Boston College, a 36-30 loss under former head coach DJ Durkin.

Michigan State remains winless in conference play this season with three ranked losses since opening the Big Ten slate against USC back on Sept. 20 and fell to 3-7 (0-7) after a 28-10 loss at home vs. Penn State. Head coach Johnathan Smith made the quarterback switch ahead of the Nov. 1 loss at Minnesota with former Oregon State transfer Aiden Chiles benched in favor of Alessio Milivojevic, who threw for over 300 yards while completing over 70% of his passes in a 23-20 overtime loss vs. Minnesota for his first career start.

Michigan State will look to end their seven-game slide when they travel to face 21^st-ranked Iowa this weekend, but the Spartans’ slide in year two of the Johnathan Smith era has once again put a cloud over the long-term direction at Michigan State with no bowl appearances since 2021.

Maryland, meanwhile, will face the other team from Michigan with the 18^th-ranked Wolverines headed to College Park on Saturday, Nov. 22 for a 4 PM kickoff to wrap up the 2025 home slate. Despite Maryland in the midst of a six-game losing streak, athletic director Jim Smith officially ended all speculation on Sunday by announcing an eighth season as head coach for Mike Locksley with his return in 2026 now announced.
