Towering former FSU WR Jordan Scott announces transfer to Maryland football

Maryland football and head coach Mike Locksley now have the second portal commitment of the day and third of the spring portal window with former Florida State WR Jordan Scott now in the fold.

Scott, a 6-foot-7, 224-pound wide receiver, becomes the second former Nole to join the program this offseason after defensive end DD Holmes.

The Virginia native who played his high school ball at Appomattox County (VA), Scott enrolled at Florida State in January after playing at Southwest Mississippi Community College last fall. The former three-star committed to the Noles after previously committing to Arizona State, but now heads to College Park to provide a long-term option at wide receiver that adds a different type of size to the room.

Maryland has already added a pair out of the transfer portal at the position in former Oklahoma WR Jalil Farooq and Tennessee WR Kaleb Webb, while Octavian Smith steps into an impact role in year four as Ryan Manning builds off a strong spring ball in year three. Scott now rounds out a unit that saw several underclassmen depart through the offseason, while third-year wide receiver Braeden Wisloski elected to enter the transfer portal where he'll play at James Madison in 2025.

Scott totaled 20 catches for 358 yards and four touchdowns in 2024 and ranks as a three-star transfer portal prospect, per On3.
