The OT7 camp in Baltimore brought in a long list of prospects outside the region near College Park, but Saturday’s rain ended up derailing the visit plans for a handful of targets. So instead of visiting Maryland for their spring game, four-star receiver TJ Moore and three-star safety Justin Denson were among the recruits who made the trip to campus on Saturday. For Denson, a 6-foot safety out of La Salle (RI), that meant he wasn’t able to meet his position coach with Zac Spavital hitting the recruiting trail but the Terps’ facilities still left a big impression. “I did not know the campus was that tough. It’s humungous,” Denson told IBG. “I was with TJ Moore since Brewer is recruiting him. Spavital wanted me to go down so I made the trip in with them but my game got pushed up early because of the rain so I went Sunday so I didn’t get a chance to meet him but I got to talk to him on the phone after. It was cool, I got to see everything and the facilities were crazy. I didn’t know Maryland was that tough.” Spavital has been steady with the three-star prospect as this weekend’s visit solidified themselves in the mix. “He told me my speed and my ball skills, I’m very long. He wants me to schedule an official. He’s going to come down to see me either this week or next week.” What’s the likelihood that Denson follows through with an official to Maryland? “I’ll definitely do that. I feel like he’s done a good job showing me love, especially with him becoming the new coach there, he’s been doing a good job of staying on top of me.” Denson has officials set to Michigan State, Oklahoma and Florida though the date to check out the Gators is subject to change. Meanwhile, he’ll look to make his way to Florida State this month with the Seminoles also in pursuit. “Denson is rated a three-star prospect and an 89 overall by On3, sitting as the top prospect in Rhode Island.” Related Links Update on Dickinson (+) Committed lineman sets official visits to two schools (+) Notes coming out of spring game (+)
