The list: Maryland welcomes four-star, local targets to campus for Towson game

Maryland will welcome its first group of visitors this weekend, headlined by four-star defensive lineman Ernest Willor along with an ACC verbal making his way to campus. With a number of Maryland's current 2024 commits making their way to campus including Pallotti (MD) IOL Ryan Howerton, DeMatha (MD) OL Terez Davis, Phoebus (VA) three-star OLB Anthony Reddick, King George (VA) WR Mekhai White and Baltimore City (MD) WR Jahmari Powell-Wonson, we break down the rest of the visitors.

Concordia Prep (MD) four-star DL Ernest Willor The headliner of the weekend, Willor's visit this weekend will mark his second this calendar year and it very likely won't be the last time he makes his way to campus this fall. In addition to Saturday's game against Towson, Willor is looking to visit Maryland again for a pair of Big Ten games later this season as the Terps are among the teams keeping tabs on the now-local four-star.

St. Mary’s (MD) OT Davon Watkins Maryland became the first Power Five offer for Watkins back in early June after visiting campus for the Big Man camp, an offer he admitted wasn't expecting at the time. Watkins was already familiar with Maryland having visited for a pair of games last fall, but the local lineman returned to campus back in late July where he was able to connect with the staff in a more casual environment. The Terps are already up to seven commitments along the offensive line this cycle with several of the commits offering positional versatility, something that Locksley has even noted about the current room, while Watkins is a firm tackle target as the staff gauges him through his senior season.

DeMatha (MD) three-star DT Emmett Laws (VT verbal) Maryland was among the finalists for Laws, a 6-foot interior yet powerful lineman, before opting to commit to the Hokies in the spring. Former assistant Elijah Brooks previously led the way with Laws as the team captain was a familiar face in College Park last year, but his size helped push him to the ACC with the connection with Brooks leading him to Blacksburg. As for Maryland, the staff has kept tabs on the local target as he and current commit Terez Davis are integral pieces in the trenches for the Stags. Laws will make his way to campus for the season-opener as Davis's guest.

Loyola Blakefield (MD) IOL Trevor Szymanski The younger brother of freshman tight end AJ Szymanski, who drew praise from Locksley on Thursday, Trevor was looking at Maryland, Pitt and Syracuse for official visits back in June before those plans fell through, setting up for what proved to be a quiet summer. Szymanski has kept in contact with offensive line coach Brian Braswell since as he remains in wait-and-see mode with the Terps, though could be shifted back to 'hot' if the tide changes.

'25 Riverdale Baptist (MD) IOL Jayvon McFadden An early priority on the offensive side in the 2025 cycle, local contacts have told IBG that McFadden's interest in Maryland has been genuine ever since he became a name to know while still at St. John's (DC). A big reason for that is the connection with head coach Mike Locksley. McFadden has been no stranger to College Park through the years, making his way to campus whether its for games or practices, with assistant coach Kevin Sumlin leading the charge early. McFadden's future is likely at guard or center, though regardless, the high three-star is among the area's top offensive linemen in the 2025 cycle.

'25Gonzaga (DC) CB DeVenchi “Deuce" Arnold This will mark the second visit for the Gonzaga cornerback since the summer and for good measure. The local cornerback has been steadily hearing from defensive coordinator Brian Williams with the Terps among the schools most consistent early, building off the local connection that set the stage for Arnold's unofficial visit back on July 29. Arnold was also able to get extended one-on-one time with head coach Mike Locksley on his last visit as Saturday will give him a different glimpse into the program. Maryland is heavily involved with the local cornerback as they look to break back into Gonzaga in the 2025 cycle, but they haven't given up yet in the 2024 class.

'25 Good Counsel (MD) three-star OL Eidan Buchanan & IOL Gavin Crawford The duo are grouped together because both recruitments are still in their early stages, but where Maryland stands with both is largely identical. Both made their way to campus back on July 29 with outside linebacker coach James Thomas Jr. leading the way early on, while West Virginia also hosted both prospects during the final week of July. Buchanan also made a separate trip to Ohio State one day prior to visiting Maryland, while Crawford visited Michigan State. Nonetheless, both have been mainstay targets for Maryland since the August 1 contact period began. Buchanan's size makes him an undoubted tackle target at the next level, while Crawford likely projects as a guard.

'25 Cardinal Newman (SC) SAF Pedro Reyes Saturday will mark the second visit for Reyes this year after visiting back in April for a spring practice with assistant Gunter Brewer leading the way for the 6-foot athlete. Tight end assistant Preston Brown has chipped in early for Reyes, who sits on the board as a safety target. Saturday will mark his first gameday in College Park.

'25 Green Run (VA) WR Emmanuel Taylor The 6-foot-1 receiver doesn't hold an offer from Maryland yet as he enters his junior season with a largely regional offer sheet, including ECU, Duke and Virginia Tech. Assistant Latrell Scott is leading the way as the area recruiter with Brewer chipping as the position coach. Taylor also visited Maryland back on July 29 as the Terps monitor the speedy receiver, who also shined in both indoor and outdoor track as a sophomore. Other 2025 recruits visiting include Blake (MD) running back Jeremiah Seaton, Andrey Kell IOL Brandon Stoner and DePaul Catholic (NJ) RB Nolan James.
