Maryland has been able to bolster the trenches this summer after picking up six commitments along the offensive line, and now, another target is set to announce next month in Cy Falls (TX) three-star Samir Camacho. Camacho, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound tackle, is set to make his commitment on August 13 at 7:30 PM. Camacho took three official visits back in June, first to Maryland the weekend of June 9 before visiting Duke the weekend of June 16. UTSA was also in the mix and was the third school to host him for an official visit, while TCU extended a verbal offer following an early June camp. Kansas was in line to receive a visit before Duke replaced them, while Cal was also in the mix heading into summer before Maryland and area recruiter Zac Spavital reworked Camacho’s schedule to get him to College Park instead. Maryland jumped into the picture with an offer back on May 8 after making the trip to Cypress, giving the staff another viable offensive line target as they’re tasked with replacing possibly six linemen following the 2023 season. “I felt at home. it was an outstanding visit, the hospitality,” Camacho told IBG. “It’s a family-based team. something that stood out to me was coach Locks, the staff and everybody there is building a championship team. I hope to be a part of it in the future and I haven’t decided on schools, but Maryland is definitely top one right now,” Camacho told IBG following his official visit. Camacho is not yet rated by On3, but is an 86 overall and a three-star prospect according to 247. Related Links
