In week two of the NFL, there were many former Terps that got onto the field and made an impact for their teams this week. A total of nine former Terps ended up recording a stat for their team. On the offensive side of the ball, Stefon Diggs, DJ Moore, and Ty Johnson helped their teams on the field. Diggs led the way with 12 receptions for 148 yards and three touchdowns with yet another impressive showing in a primetime game for him. "Getting him the ball early and often, he did a great job getting open,” Bills quarterback Josh Allen said after their Monday night game. “Making plays making some great catches. He is what he is, it’s Stefon Diggs. We know he is one of the greatest if not the greatest receiver in this game right now. I trust him implicitly. I love that guy he works his tail off.” DJ Moore also had a solid Sunday where he had three receptions for 43 yards but also added a receiving touchdown as well. Ty Johnson didn't see the field much but he still finished the day with reception for four yards in the Jets comeback win. On the defensive side of the ball, six former Terps recorded tackles with JC Jackson and Darnell Savage leading the way with six tackles. Other former Terps like Quinton Jefferson, Josh Woods, Yannick Ngakoue, and Nick Cross also recorder tackles on sunday. Cross finished with five while Woods, Ngakoue, and Jefferson all finished with two. "This guy, he’s not your typical 21-year-old. I mean, I won’t even go into the detail, but this guy is incredibly mature in a lot of ways, and I don’t get that from just talking to him because he’s kind of a quiet guy, but you watch his habits,” Colts head coach told reporters earlier this season. “His habits – like if you walk around this building for a week and just monitored every person, you would say he’s different. He’s very disciplined. He’s a very disciplined person. So, I think he’s positioned himself well to play early.” Cross has earned high praise from his head coach who is also another former Terp which he has shown to be well deserved in the first two weeks of his career. This week, once again it is an easy decision for who should get former Terp of the week. Diggs put on yet another incredible performance on national television leading the Bills to the blowout win. Through two weeks Diggs leads the league in receiving touchdowns with four and is second in the league in both receiving yards and receptions showing why he is considered a top wide receiver in the league. Next week these Terps will look to keep putting on for their teams and adding to the win column.
