Terps in the NFL: Corey Bullock draws praise, Jordan Phillips records first sack

With the second week of the 2025 NFL preseason almost wrapped up with Washington and Cincinnati set to square off tonight, we will take a look at the highlights of the 31 former Terps in the NFL:

Vet Offensive Lineman

DJ Glaze is expected to be the starting right tackle for Las Vegas this year and has looked good in training camp so far, while Gottlieb Ayedze was the Raiders' third-string left guard heading into week two. Jaelyn Duncan was the Titans third highest rated (79.3) offensive player according to PFF in their game against the Falcons.

But the biggest takeaway this weekend was in Baltimore as IOL Corey Bullock continues to impress for the Ravens as he keeps a hold onto the backup center spot.

“Corey’s fantastic. That guy, he runs the show. Especially those young centers usually with that two-group, I tell those guys just run the show. Being a center, that’s your job. He’s very smart, knows what’s going on, getting everyone going” said Ravens backup quarterback Cooper Rush. “I think he leads to how we kind of play tonight, in rhythm, guys were going to the right places, things like that. That’s all Corey. Really fun to be around, good player asks questions. He’s all about it.”

Vet Defensive Players

Darnell Savage picked up two tackles in the Jaguars game against the Saints as he continues to fight for a starting spot on that defense. Beau Brade continues to try and solidify his spot on the 53-man roster for the second season in a row with the Ravens as he added another tackle to his name against the Cowboys. Jakorian Bennett saw his first action after being traded to the Eagles, recoding one pass deflection and three tackles to his name against the Browns. Durell Nchami recorded a tackle and a QB hit against the Packers as he looks to push for a spot on the Colts’ 53-man roster.

Other Terp Vets

Jeshaun Jones finished the game against the Patriots with four catches for 39 yards on six targets as he looks to push for a spot on the 53-man roster in a wide open Vikings wide receiver room after losing Rondale Moore for the season and Jordan Addison to a three-week suspension. Rakim Jarrett also is looking to crack the 53 man roster of a team with a stacked wide receiver room as he recorded one catch for eight yards for the Buccaneers in their win over the Steelers.

Rookies

WR Tai Felton recorded two receptions for 32 yards on two targets against the Patriots as he looks to push for a larger role in that stacked Vikings wide receiver room, though head coach Kevin O’Connell noted the rookie could make his impact as a returner in 2025. Ruben Hyppolite had a solid game for the second week in a row, finishing second on the Bears in tackles with five. Jordan Phillips had a solid game for the Dolphins against the Lions, picking up his first sack with the team and posting 1.5 sacks. Phillips also added two more QB hits and four tackles. Dante Trader came back from injury this week and recorded his first tackle with the Dolphins as well. Tommy Akingbesote also recorded his first tackle as a Cowboy against the Ravens. Glen Miller faces an uphill battle to make the Chiefs 53-man roster as he added a tackle to his name against the Seahawks. Josh Kaltenberger for the second week in a row put together a solid performance for the Chargers only allowing just one pressure on 13 pass block snaps as he pushes to make the 53-man roster as a UDFA.
