TE Leron Husbands, CB Mykel Morman no longer with Maryland football

Maryland football saw two more players depart from the program this week.

A team spokesperson confirms that both TE Leron Husbands and CB Mykel Morman are no longer with the program. Husbands and Morman become the third and fourth players to leave the program since September after a pair of backups – punter Brenden Segovia and QB Cam Edge – elected to leave the program earlier in the season.

Husbands, a former three-star signee in the 2021 class out of CH Flowers (MD) after transferring from Archbishop Carroll (DC), battled injuries through his first three seasons after appearing in just one game. Husbands is now in his fourth season at Maryland and has appeared in all but two games in 2024, rounding out the unit led by Preston Howard and Dylan Wade, who sit fifth and sixth on the team in receptions. Husbands drew his first career start in the week two loss vs. Michigan State.

Morman did not appear in a game in 2024 after appearing in three during the 2023 season. A a former three-star pledge out of Wise (MD) in the 2022 cycle, Morman picked up an offer from Maryland following a workout in June of 2022 to become the first Power Four offer before committing during his official visit roughly one week later. Morman was part of a cycle that rebuilt the cornerback room after enrolling alongside Lionell Whitaker and Gavin Gibson, while Perry Fisher flipped from wide receiver to cornerback days after enrolling with the program.
