TE Damon Hall becomes second St. Frances pledge in Maryland’s 2026 class

Maryland has picked up its third commitment and second commit from St. Frances in the 2026 cycle after three-star tight end Damon Hall went public with his decision today.

Hall, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound athlete, gave the staff his pledge on Friday, Aug. 16 before going public today.

“It’s really been my dream school since I was very young just because it’s my hometown,” Hall told IBG ahead of his announcement. “Coach Aazaar [Abdul-Rahim], I’ve been talking with him. It’s been great. I really like him as a coach. I knew once I talked to him. He really opened it up for me a lot.”

Hall committed to Maryland over verbal offers from Michigan, South Carolina, Colorado, Kansas, Florida, Penn State and Virginia Tech among others while the Terps became the third Power Four offer after Alabama and Boston College kicked off his recruitment following his freshman season.

The newest in-state pledge vaults Maryland’s early 2026 class inside the top-25 nationally as he becomes the second pledge out of St. Frances after projected three-star cornerback Khmari Bing announced his commitment earlier this month. “Khmari [Bing] is my guy, excited to play with him in college,” Hall added.

Hall stepped into a feature role as a receiving tight end last season where he and current Mississippi State QB Mike Van Buren connected in the open field, but he’s put a premium on becoming an all-around tight end this offseason as he looks to build his rapport with 2027 QB Tristan Sabb this fall. “I feel like I developed my blocking way more, took way more pride in blocking.”

As far as how he’ll be used in College Park, Hall took note of the tight end usage within Mike Locksley’s offense. “I just like how they get them the ball a good amount,” Hall added. St. Frances will open the season on Friday, Aug. 23 at Central Catholic (PA).

Damon Hall is rated a three-star prospect and 88 overall by On3, checking in as the seventh-best prospect in the state and 17th-best tight end nationally.
