Fans were able to play with their favorite player(s) for the first time in eleven years after the early release of EA Sports College Football '25 on Monday afternoon, but a handful of current Terps were missing from the online roster on release day. Second-year wide receivers Ryan Manning and Ezekiel Avit have not been added to Maryland's current EA Sports roster while several of the recently-enrolled freshmen -- WR Jahmari Powell-Wonson, OL Michael Hershey, OL Terez Davis, OL Anthony Robsock, OL Kevin Kalonji, DL Dimitry Nicolas and DB Judah Jenkins -- are also missing. EA Sports included a handful of fictional players in their place while the possibility remains that all nine players currently missing are included in the next batch of roster updates. With MJ Morris as the default starting quarterback -- drawing a 77 overall alongside Billy Edwards Jr. -- fifth-year linebacker Ruben Hyppolite was named the highest-rated player in the program after drawing an 86 overall. RB Roman Hemby was right behind him as the lone Terp as an 85 overall, while CB Jalen Huskey and SAF Dante Trader Jr. were both rated an 84 overall. Freshman "Kerm" Humes, who is expected to be an early contributor, was rated the fastest player on the team ahead of Nolan Ray, Tai Felton and Roman Hemby while DL Lavon Johnson was rated the strongest player on the roster. Fans took note of Maryland's surprising initial rating -- drawing a 79 overall with the offense rated a 73 -- after checking in as the second-lowest-rated Power Four team ahead of only Vanderbilt. However, updated rosters in dynasty mode painted a different picture with both the team and offense overall at an 81, compared to the defense at 82. Student-athletes were able to opt into the game to receive $600 and an early copy of the game, though the latter proved to be a significant hurdle for EA Sports in the final hour. Through an open records request, IBG previously reported what assets Maryland submitted to EA Sports with the iconic red, white, black and yellow Terps Script uniforms available. Maryland also provided assets capturing the band in the student section, Testudo inside SECU Stadium and shots of McKeldin Mall. Related Links
