Seven Terps drew All-Big Ten honors on defense and special teams with senior cornerback Tarheeb Still leading the way, the Big Ten announced on Tuesday. Maryland's six defensive selections are the most recognized in All-Big Ten honors since 2014. Cornerback Tarheeb Still was also named a second-team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches after becoming one of three players in FBS to have two games with two interceptions each. Still was previously named Jim Thorpe National DB of the Week following the Nebraska game, one of his two games where he finished with two interceptions while adding a team-high seven tackles in the win. Still sits fifth nationally in interceptions (5). Still was the lone player selected to the second team, while drawing third-team All-Big Ten honors in the media poll. Linebacker Ruben Hyppolite was named third-team All-Big Ten by the coaches, while he drew honorable mention in the media poll. The Florida native finished the season second on the team with 62 tackles, along with 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack in the season-finale vs. Rutgers. Linebacker Jaishawn Barham (coaches), defensive backs Ja'Quan Sheppard (coaches), Beau Brade (media & coaches), defensive lineman Quashon Fuller (coaches) and return specialist Braden Wisloski (media) all drew honorable mention honors. Barham registered three sacks and an interception in his second season in College Park, finishing second on the team in sacks and recording at least four tackles in seven games this season. This marks the second consecutive season that Barham has drawn conference honors. Beau Brade, who surprisingly only drew honorable mention honors, led Maryland's defense with 72 tackles along with four tackles for loss, six pass breakups, one interception and a forced fumble. Brade led Maryland's defense in tackles in six of his eleven games played in 2023, including an early interception against Michigan State along with a late forced fumble to help Maryland pull out a road win at Nebraska. Brade was also invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl heading into the season finale. In his second season at Maryland, Fuller emerged as a disrupter in the trenches and finishes second on the team with five tackles for loss and three sacks, along with 20 tackles. Fuller also recorded five quarterback hits and recorded a tackle for loss in five games this season. Sheppard transferred from Cincinnati to Maryland to fill the void left by Deonte Banks and Jakorian Bennett and stepped into a starting role as one of three defensive players to start in every game this season. Sheppard led Maryland with seven pass breakups this season, including a strong performance against Michigan. Sheppard was previously named a first-team All-AAC selection last season at Cincinnati. Wisloski emerged as a return specialist after enrolling in January, and his week three splash gave Maryland fans a glimpse into the electric freshman. Wisloski sits third in the Big Ten and 22nd in the country in yards per kick return (23.5) and recorded a 98-yard kickoff return to kick off the Terps' scoring against Virginia in week three. Wisloski's touchdown marked the longest return by a Maryland freshman since Stefon Diggs did so back in 2012 and marked Maryland's first kickoff return for a touchdown since 2019. Offensive honors will be announced on Wednesday.
