Quince Orchard (MD) wide receiver Tavahri “Tick” Groves has taken advantage on the OT7 circuit, hauling in touchdowns over the top while flashing his elusiveness in the slot for California Power. Alabama A&M and Howard have extended offers so far, but the explosiveness that the 5-foot-11, 168-pound wideout showed made him among the top playmakers in Cali last weekend. “Very good with my hands, explosive, fast. Just a good all-around player. Catching the ball, running routes more. Just getting stronger,” Groves said. “I want to work on concentrating on the ball.” Groves has also taken advantage of the camp circuit at colleges this month, posting a 4.48 at Virginia Tech. Groves has shifted to morning workouts with the Cougars with his junior year now complete, but that hasn’t stopped his drive. “The eager to win. I don’t have the offers as everybody else but I just keep working,”. Groves added. Groves also helped Quince Orchard outlast the competition at Maryland’s 7-on-7 tournament, eventually topping Good Counsel to win the championship, but the MoCo product has taken care of business off the field, also boasting a 3.0 GPA heading into the fall. The 5-foot-11 athlete also camped at James Madison and Morgan State in June.
