Preview: Maryland men's basketball hosting Indiana in search of first Big Ten win

After five days in between games, Maryland men's basketball is set for the second of three conference home games this month with head coach Buzz Williams looking to guide his team to the first conference win of the season.

Wednesday marks the lone matchup against the Hoosiers this season with Indiana leading the all-time series, 14-10, with Maryland winning two of the previous eight matchups.

Indiana has dropped three games so far this season, including the conference opener at Minnesota along with a nine-point loss against then-sixth ranked Louisville and 12 point loss at Kentucky. The Hoosiers and Terps also do share a common win this season with both teams securing road wins against Marquette in November. But with the Hoosiers coming off three consecutive wins including a ten-point win against Washington, head coach Darian Devries will look to look to guide his team to the pick up their second road win of the season.

Lamar Wilkerson has scored at least 20 points in each of his last three games and enters the matchup one of two Hoosiers averaging 15 or more points this season as his 19.2 points per game ranked seventh in the conference. Tucker DeVries, alrady with a pair of double-doubles under his belt in 2025-26, is averaging 15.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while Reed Bailey is averaging nearly ten points per game off the bench.

Maryland is expected to remain short-handed against the Hoosiers with star center Pharrel Payne still sidelined and no announced timetable to return. Guillermo Del Pino and Lukas Sotell join Payne on the injury report.
