National Signing Day: Maryland Football Closing in on 2023 Class

Signing day has arrived as head coach Mike Locksley and the Maryland Terrapins will look to close strong in the 2023 class. “We’re trying to close and we’re in and out of planes, trains in automobiles, trying to find the next generation of Terps and I’m excited about the way this thing is shaping up,” head coach Mike Locksley said last week. Entering the day with 23 verbal commitments, Maryland has a chance to close with several more targets. Ole Miss four-star verbal Neeo Avery is among the top targets that Maryland is working to close on while four-star linebacker duo Mike and Andrew Harris, along with Rolesville (NC) and NC State verbal Tamarcus Cooley are set to announce. Maryland could also be active in the transfer portal with other targets on the cusp of a decision and ahead of January enrollment. Meanwhile, Maryland will await letters of intent from its current commits headlined by four-star edge rushers Rico Walker and Dylan Gooden, three-star athlete Dylan Wade, cornerback Kevis Thomas and wide receiver Braeden Wisloski. Maryland enters the day 50th in the On3 team rankings, 45th in the Rivals team rankings and 39th in the 247Sports team rankings.
