Maryland's Potential on Offense Impressing '24 WR Elijah Moore

With a pair of four-stars in Dylan Gooden and Neeo Avery leading the Falcons this fall, Good Counsel’s 2024 class steps into a prominent role this fall and three-star receiver Elijah Moore will be a focal point in the Falcons’ passing attack this fall. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound receiver wrapped up his two scrimmages last week after facing Loyola Blakefield then Calvert Hall and with the season opener set for this weekend at St. Joseph Regional, Moore wants to show he’s an all-around receiver and not a tight end prospect. “I’m not into rankings but I want to show people I’m better than I’m portrayed,” he told Inside the Black and Gold. With offers from USC, Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Florida State among others, Moore is looking ahead to September 1 when college coaches can finally initiate contact with the DMV star. “They’re keeping in touch. They tell me September 1 they’ll be able to show me love so just keep doing what I’m doing. September 1, there’s going to be a lot of notifications.” https://twitter.com/3lijahmoore/status/1561163578610274305 While Moore named LSU, Ohio State and Alabama as three schools he’d love to hear from, the only two visits he took this summer were to Maryland and West Virginia. “I was in West Virginia but that was for 7-on-7 but they showed me a little visit stuff, showed me the weight room,” he added. “They’ve got the new weight room, they showed me some trophies, locker room is nice, everything really.” Moore has been consistent about taking trips to Maryland dating back to last summer and he returned to campus back on July 30 where he got a chance to spend more one-on-one time with the coaches. “It gets tighter and tighter every year. It’s down the street, been up there a bunch.” With a star quarterback and a veteran receiver room with several NFL prospects, Moore is taking note of the potentially lethal passing attack that the Terps can assemble this fall. Moore took in Maryland’s season-opening win last fall and after checking the Terps out for a spring practice too, he’s keeping his eye on how the Maryland receiver room fares this fall. “They’re coming different. It’s a different feeling because of how they practice so I can’t wait to watch them this year. Coach Brewer and I, we talk a lot and I already know he’s going to have his receivers like that. I’ve already seen them going crazy, but it’s going to be different this year. They’re going to do some damage this year.” Moore is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall by On3, sitting as the 12th-best prospect in Maryland in the 2024 class.
