Maryland pledge returns to campus, talks June visit plans

Miami Edison (FL) three-star cornerback Jett White announced his verbal commitment to Maryland back in January and returned to campus at the start of spring ball for an unofficial visit, but this weekend gave the 6-foot-1.5, 169-pound athlete a chance to spend more time around the coaches while cornerback Chantz Harley served as his host during his official visit. "It was great to be around the coaches again. I've been there a few times now so just catching up and talking with them is always a blessing," White told IBG. "Not just about football but about life and life after football. I saw coach and Aazaar in Miami, they came to my spring game so that was great also." While White was able to spend time around the players as the official visitors took in DC on Friday night, there was a clear highlight for White and his family outside of football. "The highlight of the for me was learning about the mentorship program and what it can do for student-athletes after football because not everyone will make it to the NFL." While White remains high on head coach Mike Locksley and the Terps' staff, the Maryland visit is one of a handful that White has planned through June. White had plans to officially visit Marshall next weekend, but that has since been postponed to the fall while he will officially visit UNLV either next weekend or a midweek official. White also told IBG he plans to officially visit Florida State during the weekend of June 21, while Toledo is in the mix for a visit in June. Jett White is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall by On3. He is one of eight commitments in Maryland's class, joining TE JT Taggart, DT Braheem Battles, OL Kahlil Stewart, WR Justin DeVaughn, RB Bud Coombs, SAF Julien Horton and LB CJ Smith. Related Links
