Maryland Offer Draws Interest From Committed Lineman

Maryland has spent the week traveling along the east coast with inside linebacker coach Lance Thompson and outside linebacker coach James Thomas spending time down in Florida. Thomas made the stop through Wekiva High School (FL) to check on three-star defensive lineman Sincere Edwards. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound lineman was already familiar with Thomas through his high school coach before the offer materialized on Wednesday. “They actually came by on Monday and coach saw me and said he’d have a talk with the coordinator. So he called me and offered me,” Edwards told IBG. “ is very good friends with my coach so I kind of knew a little bit about him before he came. They played together in high school. they both speak very highly of each other. They’re real good friends to this day, go out still, things of that nature.” Edwards doesn’t have plans yet to visit campus as he eyes a future spring practice, but he knows why he’s interested in checking out the Terps. “One reason is because one thing about coach JT, he seems like a real dude. I really love that. He always kept it real since we started talking and I just loved the vibe I got from him.” https://twitter.com/SincereEdwards0/status/1604523996950982656 Through it all, Edwards enters the beginning stages of the cycle as a committed prospect after committing to in-state UCF back in August but he says that hasn’t deterred him from looking at other schools. “My recruitment is still 100% open and the UCF coaching staff does know that. I’m not shutting down my recruitment until really I announce but my options, I don’t want to shoot any school down. Duke, Colorado, Utah, Ole Miss, Pitt and Kentucky are among the primary schools working to get him on campus and he has plans for this upcoming weekend. “I’ll be at UCF on Friday but I believe on Saturday I may take a visit to Duke, but if not, I’ll be at Florida.” Edwards is rated a three-star prospect and an 86 overall by On3. Edwards is rated the 100th-best prospect in Florida and the 53rd-best defensive lineman in the nation.
