Maryland men’s basketball will open the 2025-26 season battling the injury bug with Rakease Passmore set to miss the upcoming 2025-26 season due a torn Achillies.
“Maryland sophomore guard Rakease Passmore will miss the 2025-26 season due to a torn Achillies tendon," the program announced on Tuesday.
Passmore transferred in the program back in late May, announcing his decision minutes after Sebastian Wilkins committed to Duke, to join David Coit as the second former Jayhawk to arrive in Maryland this offseason.
The former four-star originally committed to Kansas over Wake Forest, LSU, Oklahoma and Mississippi State among others as the former top-50 prospect rounds out the backcourt in year one.
Passmore, a 6-foot-5 guard originally from Florida, appeared in 23 games at Kansas while he averaged 0.7 points in 23 games. His career-high five points came against Furman back on Nov. 30 while the former four-star recruit reunites with David Coit, who spent 2024-25 at Kansas, in the Terps' backcourt next fall.
