The pieces of Maryland basketball's 2024-25 non-conference schedule are coming together and fans could see another marquee game on next season's schedule. " will play 3 teams in Purdue, Wisconsin and likely Maryland. Iowa State is on the schedule and the hope is Marquette could also get a game with NC State," Andy Katz tweeted. The two teams have only squared off once back on Dec. 1, 2019, when Maryland pulled out a 21-point win in the Orlando Invitational after Anthony Cowan finished with a game-high 22 points, moving the Terps to 8-0 and ranked 12th at the time. This time around, Maryland will get a chance to add a potential Quad One game to its early nonconference schedule as fans hope the upcoming matchup will be set in College Park this fall. Led by Shaka Smart heading into his fourth season as head coach, Marquette finished 27-10 (14-6) after seeing their season end in the hands of NC State during their Final Four run this past tournament. While Tyler Kolek is a big void that Smart is tasked with replacing, the Golden Knights are led by Kam Jones and return Stevie Mitchell and Chase Ross with Ben Gold and David Joplin back and in line for starting roles. Marquette also checked in at 17th in Jon Rothstein's preseason rankings. Maryland already has games announced vs. Villanova at the Prudential Center on Nov. 24 and will reportedly face Syracuse at the Barclays Center on Dec. 21, but now, fans get the marquee game in Xfinity that they hoped for. The Big Ten previously announced conference opponents for the upcoming season as Maryland will face Nebraska, Northwestern and Ohio State in and home-and-away. Maryland will also host Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan State, Rutgers, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin while traveling to Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue and Washington. Related Links
