Maryland makes the cut for WR Javarius Green

Maryland has entrenched themselves in the mix for a number of regional wide receivers and they made the cut for another on Saturday afternoon after Crest (NC) three-star Javarius Green announced his top group. Javarius Green, a 6-foot, 190-pound wide receiver, released a top seven including Maryland, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Virginia Tech. https://twitter.com/javariusg_/status/1657448343033860096?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet Green shared on social media earlier in the week that he is set to officially visit Michigan State the weekend of June 9. Maryland jumped into the mix for the speedster last fall as wide receiver coach Gunter Brewer has led the way as both area and position recruiter. While the staff made their way through Crest during the open period earlier this month, Green also made his way to Maryland for an unofficial visit with his dad back on April 8 where he also got a chance to sit in position meetings. Javarius, the son of former NFL wideout Willie Green, grew up playing baseball before switching to football before high school. Combine that with his focus on track and field through the offseason and the electric slot receiver has since put his speed on full display with a 4.39 40 time on the track that’s translated to the gridiron. As a junior, Green posted 1,267 yards and 18 touchdowns. Green is rated a three-star prospect and an 88 overall by On3, sitting as the 16th-best prospect in North Carolina. Related Links
