Maryland football set for interactive Spring Showcase on Saturday

Saturday will mark the 15th and final practice of spring ball for Maryland football as head coach Mike Locksley and his staff look to embrace Maryland Day a different way than usual.

Rather than the traditional spring game, Maryland is shifting to a Spring Showcase beginning at 1 PM on Saturday inside SECU Stadium, a 45 minute open-practice format with a chance for fans to get a close look at the team before several interactive events set up through the afternoon.

Maryland announced that comedian Lou Young will serve as an in-game host alongside Coach 30, another content creator, where they will host on-field interviews with the players and coaches. Maryland also announced that the team practice will be immediately followed by a girls youth flag football scrimmage before offering multiple ways for fans to engage with the players, including:

Playing EA Sports College Football 25 on the videoboard against Maryland players
Racing Terps players in a 40-yard dash (fans receive a head start)
Dance competitions featuring players, fans, and Testudo
Tug-of-war battles
Field goal kicking contests
The chance to catch a punt from the JUGS machine

Prior to the Spring Showcase, fans can head inside Jones-Hill House for the first edition of Terpsville Fan Fest in 2026 with a chance for fans to embrace the activities inside the indoor facility featuring inflatables, face painters and lawn games among others. Fan Fest will re-open again from 2:30 PM to 4 PM.

Maryland men’s basketball will also sign autographs from 11 AM to noon inside Jones-Hill House, while fans will be able to purchase exclusive team-issued items in a gear sale inside SECU Stadium.
