Maryland now has its fourth transfer portal commitment of the offseason in the fold after Wyoming transfer wide receiver Chris Durr Jr. announced his commitment today.
Durr, a 5-foot-10, 173-pound wideout, committed to Maryland over Virginia, known through the DMV as the Terps' son. Durr visited Virginia earlier in the week before heading to Maryland where he arrived for a one-day official visit on Tuesday, Jan. 6 before departing the morning of Jan. 7.
"Absolutely amazing place," a source close to the newest Maryland commit told IBG following the visit.
Durr became an impact piece in his first season with the Cowboys after playing in all 12 games with one start and totaling 31 catches for 348 yards and one touchdown on 45 targets. Durr built on that success in 2025 after leading the team in catches (45), receiving yards (469) and receiving touchdowns (4), including seven catches for 67 yards and a touchdown vs. Colorado State.
He also finished with 146 receiving yards on seven catches and nine targets in the season opener vs. Akron, while recorded at least three catches in every game and at least five in the first five games and seven total. Durr also posted just three drops on 68 targets, evidence of Maryland's focus on experienced efficiency out of its skill players as he joins Na'heem Gladding, who accounted for just two drops on 88 targets in 2025.
Durr joins the program with two years of eligibility remaining.
He also now joins a transfer class with early commitments from USC running back Harry Dalton and a pair of Old Dominion teammates in RB Trequan Jones and WR Na'heem Abdul-Rahim Gladding.
