Maryland football inks pair of portal commits

Maryland football has its fifth and sixth portal commitments of the offseason with former UCF defensive lineman Derrick LeBlanc and Boston College cornerback Amari Jackson in the fold.

LeBlanc, a 6-foot-5, 310-pound lineman, joins the program after playing in eight games in 2025 and recording 13 tackles and 1.6 sacks. LeBlanc is wrapping up his visit to Maryland on Friday to give the Terps' a boost in the trenches.

The defensive tackle pledge out of Opa Locka, FL gives Maryland experienced depth in the trenches with interior defensive linemen Bryce Jenkins and Eyan Thomas expected to return in 2026.

LeBlanc redshirted in 2023 and did not appear in a game in 2024 before stepping into a rotational role in 2025. He joins the program with two years of eligibility remaining. LeBlanc began his college career at Oklahoma before transferring out after one semester, landing at nearby UCF.

Jackson, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound cornerback, arrives at Maryland to give Maryland experienced depth in the secondary. Jackson has played the last four years for the Eagles where he once played under Aazaar Abdul-Rahim, who left Boston College for Maryland following the 2023, season. He joins the program with one year of eligibility after registering 81 tackles, two interceptions, 15 pass deflections in 29 games over the last four season.
