Maryland football moved to 2-0 following Saturday's 56-21 win over Charlotte. Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa capped off a historic day for Maryland after finishing with the highest single-game completion percentage in program history. After allowing a pair of touchdowns on the first three drives, Maryland's defense eased in but failed to force a turnover for the second consecutive game. Maryland did, however, amass 617 total yards of offense, the most since last season's homecoming victory over Indiana. One note heading into the game was that cornerback Tarheeb Still did not travel with the team to Charlotte after suffering an injury to his finger last week. "We'll know more on Monday. He ended up cutting his finger, yeah, freak accident in the locker room. We'll get more on his status when we get back to see where he is." Meanwhile, Taulia Tagovailoa set the program record for single-game completion percentage after finishing 27-of-31 on the day. The junior starter also threw for 391 yards, four touchdowns and an interception but continues to climb the program record book in career passing yards and touchdowns. Taulia also finished with one rushing touchdown but stayed down at the end of the play after tweaking his ankle. He eliminated any concern about a potential injury after trotting out of the medical tent pumping up the crowd, then later relieving Billy Edwards on fourth down and converting a first down. Watch Maryland head coach Mike Locksley break down his team's performance and quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa recap his record-setting day. Meanwhile, wide receiver Jacob Copeland breaks down his first two touchdowns as a Terp while running back Colby McDonald talks about the rushing attack. Maryland football will host SMU next weekend for a 7:30 PM kickoff. The next road game is the first Big Ten game against fourth-ranked Michigan, who faces Hawaii at 8 PM.
