Maryland football is inching closer to the start of the 2022 season, but the program announced several future games on Wednesday afternoon. Maryland finalized its non-conference schedule in 2025 after announcing a September 13 game against Towson, rounding out a schedule that includes a home game against UCF and a subsequent road trip to Northern Illinois. Towson, who will roll out for Maryland quarterback Tyrell Pigrome as the 2022 starter, has not faced Maryland since 2017 when the Terps won 63-17. Maryland also announced a matchup versus James Madison on September 4, 2027, in the first matchup since 2014 as the Terps look to improve to 4-0 all-time against the Dukes. James Madison will debut its first season in the Sun Belt Conference this fall. Maryland will then turn back to its ACC roots beginning in 2030. Maryland will play at Wake Forest on September 7, 2030, and then host the Demon Deacons on September 6, 2031. Maryland holds a 43-18-1 advantage over Wake Forest but will face off for the first time since 2013 when the Demon Deacons beat Maryland under former head coach Randy Edsall. Dave Clawson, Wake Forest’s current head coach, enters his ninth season with the program and boasts a 51-48 overall record and four bowl wins during his tenure. Maryland is set to open its 2022 season on Saturday, Sept. 3 at home when the Terps welcome Buffalo. For ticket information, click here.
