Maryland football has added another quarterback to its 2026 room.
As expected, Canadian quarterback and former Ohio quarterback Cal Wither has transferred to Maryland, bolstering the depth in the room. He also becomes the second transfer quarterback this offseason alongside Devin Kargman with Wither expected to enroll prior to spring ball beginning March 24.
Wither arrived for a two-day visit earlier this month with assistant Gerald Dixon working to add a quarterback to a room led by Malik Washington in his second season.
"The coaching staff, had a great time, phenomenal people, they did a great job of taking care of me and it was great to be able to get up there and meet them," Wither told IBG. "What they're envisioning for me and within the offense, it does really fit me and how I want to play, where I'm at in my career."
Wither began his college career at Ohio where he did not record a stat in three years before transferring to Laurier, completing nearly 73% of his passes and throwing for nearly 2,500 yards with 26 touchdowns to four interceptions across eight games.
"I'm really excited about the opportunity and everything coach Locksley, coach Trickett has to offer. He's a great coach, it was great sitting down with him and learning more about his offense and excited to officially work with him."
