An expected but official return was announced by the program on Monday evening with cornerback Jamare Glasker officially back with Maryland in 2026, marking his second and final season for the program.
Glasker becomes the second cornerback to announce his return after cornerback Dontay Joyner became the second player and first defender to do so this offseason.
Glasker, a Potomac High School grad, arrived in the program last offseason after transferring in from Wake Forest where he gave the Terps an expected immediate boost in the secondary, filling a key hole under assistant Aazaar Abdul-Rahim. He committed to Maryland over Ole Miss, Florida and Michigan with the Wolverines proving to be the biggest challenger.
“I had a meeting with coach Locks at the end and coach Aazaar. Everything was smooth, man. I’m just back home. Me and Aazaar know people we’re familiar with, coach Locksley also, so it’s just crazy how I ended up back home. My story, how I came up is crazy and coach Aazaar had the same story. Coach Locks did too. I feel like we’re going to get it rolling well," he told IBG.
In his first season with the program, Glasker finished 2025 with a team-high four interceptions as the Temple Hills, MD native recorded interceptions in three consecutive games (Nebraska, UCLA, Indiana), returning one for a touchdown at UCLA. Glasker also added six tackles for loss, ranking fourth on the team, and totaled 32 tackles on the season.
At Wake Forest, he started in nine games and appeared in 18 games during his two seasons, finishing 2024 with 37 tackles, four pass breakups and an interception as he became a full-time starter in 2024.
