Local four-star guard recaps June unofficial, talks schools involved

Maryland men’s basketball hosted its first 2026 official visitor of the Buzz Williams era when Texas wing Austin Brown made his first trip to College Park, giving the 6-foot-7 shooter his first real look around the program now led by a staff he’s grown close with. While Maryland expands their recruiting board to tap into the extensive ties through Texas, the new staff has also capitalized on the local hoops scene and become players for a handful of 2026 prospects. One of those is Bishop O’Connell four-star Darius Bivins, who unofficially visited in mid-June and got his first glimpse and how the program runs under the current staff.
