2026 Loyola Blakefield (MD) fringe composite four-star Khary Adams is still mapping out potential visits with his junior season around the corner, but the 6-foot-2, 178-pound cornerback is coming off a month where he was able to venture out to a handful of schools for workouts. It’s no surprise for Adams, who already fields a double-digit list and is a four-time national All-American in track after posting a school-record 10.7-second in the 100-meter and 21.5-seconds in the 200-meter. His elite athleticism has entrenched him on the recruiting board of several Power Four schools as he’s enjoyed increased contact with coaches over the last month. “It’s been really good just talking to all these coaches and getting to know them,” Adams told IBG. June gave the rising junior a chance to return the favor and visit some of these schools, letting him get a closer feel for some of his top suitors. Adams’ time spent with the Notre Dame staff gave him a chance to connect with position coach Mike Mickens for the first time and get acclimated to Mickens’s coaching style. “The coaches were real cool, they can really tell you what you need to do and he’s good at teaching you and helping you apply it to the next rep.” While Adams made sure to get out far and wide for the first time, those visit plans included a short trip to College Park where he was able to work closer with assistant Aazaar Abdul-Rahim. “I went up to workout and train for Aazaar Abdul-Rahim,” Adams told IBG. “He’s got great leadership, I like him as a coach. I’ve gotten to know him more on the Xs and Os. We’ve got a good relationship. He’s a good coach. The way he coaches, you can tell he really knows what he’s talking about. It’s just good work and he’s fun to be around.” Adams also cited defensive analyst Quincy Kahlert as someone he’s “comfortable” with as Maryland makes the local defensive back a priority in the early stages of the 2026 cycle. “They’re all reaching out a lot, keeping in contact.” Adams added that Syracuse, UNC and Notre Dame have made their interest clear as they maintain consistent contact through the summer, while Indiana has drawn intrigue for a potential gameday visit this fall. Adams also cited Penn State and UNC as potential gameday visits in addition to Maryland, who will give him a chance to get a closer feel for the defensive back room. “I plan to go to a couple of games. I wouldn’t say I have questions for them but just to see how the defense fits, how the play and get coached,” Adams added. Khary Adams is not yet rated by On3, but is a four-star prospect by both 247 and ESPN. Related Links
