Local '23 Lineman "Started to Tear Up" After First Offer from Maryland

Updated: Feb 4, 2022

offensive lineman Zachary Anderson. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound prospect was ecstatic to learn of the Terps offer.

“When I found out about the offer, I started to tear up because I was so excited that years of hard work and dedication were starting to pay off. For the next couple of minutes it felt like I was in a dream,” Anderson told Inside the Black & Gold. “I couldn’t believe it. My phone started to blow up with messages and all that good stuff. It was one of the best days of my life.”

It was outside linebackers coach Ron Zook who extended the offer to the Quince Orchard product who was informed by Coach John Kelley and Alex Twine, a former linebacker for the Terps.

With camp schedules starting to come out from schools across the country, Anderson already has some set up for the month of June.

“I am attending Duke’s prospect camp on June 5th and Penn State’s big man challenge on June 25th”. With nothing set up for Maryland just yet, he said not to worry. It won’t be long until the big man steps on campus.

Only being a 2023 prospect, Anderson also explains his goals for the offseason along with the upcoming fall football season.

“I would like to hit 315 on the bench and a 500 squat specifically. First and foremost we all here at QO want to bring home a state championship. My personal goal is to be the best center in the state of Maryland. I would also like to prove myself and earn more scholarships!”
