LB Trey Reddick becomes latest to finalize 2026 decision

The dominos continue to fall for Maryland football with linebacker Trey Reddick officially set to return in 2026.

Reddick's return was previously reported by IBG as one of several Virginia natives expected to remain with the program in 2026 with linebacker CJ Smith, safety Messiah Delhomme and offensive tackle Jaylen Gilchrist all in line to return.

A former three-star out of Phoebus High School (VA), Reddick took the next step in 2025 after building momentum through the offseason. Reddick finished fifth on the team with 53 tackles, ranked fourth on the team with 5.5 TFLs and was tied for third on the team with a pair of sacks while missing one game in 2025. He also posted TFLs in each of the first two conference games, recording a sack in the Big Ten home opener vs. Washington, and is expected to become a key part of the 2026 defense.

Reddick makes his decision official on the same day that Delhomme announced and one day after cornerback Jamare Glasker finalized his decision, joining QB Malik Washington, edge Zahir Mathis and cornerback Dontay Joyner while edge Sidney Stewart remains expected to return with a finalized deal a possibility before the transfer portal officially opens.

"He basically said that they’re there for me. He’s got my back," Reddick told IBG about head coach Mike Locksley after he committed to Maryland out of high school.
